I took these shoes out of the box, put them on and headed uptown for a little errand-run. Turns out, I covered over seven miles of New York City sidewalk. So I'm evaluating these shoes after a solid try out.
My feet can't figure out if they're a 9 or a 9.5, so shopping online is a total gamble. I'd ordered these shoes in a 9.5 and, at first, was thinking they were too big. But by the end of the day, I was glad I'd sized up. First, these shoes are on the narrow side. Second, the back of the shoe fits snugly around your heel and if the shoe were any shorter I think it would have been uncomfortable. Thirdly, the footbed of the shoe is very flat and if I decide to stick in a little arch support, it would be nice to have the room to do so.
I had ordered the pink color although I'm not the pink type; I thought the lighter color would look cute with a summery skirt. I was right. The pink is not overly pinky-pinky and the cream straps with the motorcycle-babe buckles completely beat down the I-need-a-lollipop-to-pull-this-look-off feeling.
These shoes can easily be worn barefoot when the weather gets warmer. I had them on with grey striped socks which I thought was rather awesome, but then again, I live two blocks from Greenwich Village.
